Launch of COVID-19 National Sanitary Measures Campaign aimed at Youth

Mauritius

Start: 2020-04-28
End: 2022-06-30

The project was launched  in collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Human Tertiary Education, Science and Technology and National Youth Council; and sponsored by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) under the aegis of the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office for Mauritius and the Seychelles.

The main objective of the campaign is to sensitize students on sanitary measures against the Covid-19 pandemic and to learn how to live with this pandemic including:

  • proper use of masks,
  • regular use of sanitizers and
  • keeping social distance.

Importantly, the campaign will also train Head Boys / Girls, Students Council and Class Captains in how to encourage others to implement prevention measures  to reduce the spread of the virus in schools, but also in the country. This training component of the campaign will encourage the multiplier effect by empowering the students with the knowledge to become ambassadors to their classmates and teaching and non-teaching staff in schools and outside their schools.
