Our Work on the Sustainable Development Goals in Mauritius
How the UN is supporting The Sustainable Development Goals in Mauritius
The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (formerly named United Nations Development Assistance Framework) is the most important instrument for planning and implementation of the UN development activities at the country level.
In Mauritius, this document is known as the “Government of Mauritius and United Nations Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF) 2019-2023: A Partnership for Sustainable Development.” The SPF consolidates the work of the UN system in a single coherent strategy providing a platform for common policy work, stronger coordination of programmes, and timely delivery of results. The framework represents a strong collaborative link with the Mauritius Government’s national development priorities, related sustainable development goals, internationally and regionally agreed commitments and obligations, including human rights treaties, the SAMOA Pathway and the Africa Agenda 2063. The result areas are as follows:
- Transformed businesses
- Ocean Economy and tourism
- Ageing society, health, and labour market
- Inclusive education and gender equality
- Resilience to climate change
